ANGURÁ - The New Legend
I sought motivation to do a project that was shelved been years and always procrastinated doing so. With the realization a contest, in company I work, I could see how good I get back to practice and be artistically active, beyond that at no time I can let this flame goes out. I confess that I have not practiced recently. But that is passed from this project.
Unite a dream with the study of folk legends, the Angura emerged. A bit of history created for him. It is a creeping be living in the Atlantic Forest, has a thin skin covering the head with various blinking eyes and behave synchronously, the head resembles human. He is a mystic predator of Caiporas (character of Brazilian folklore). It makes use of hypnosis to attract their victims and inhibits every way making a sound and mild odor that will numbing and paralyzing the entire body. With a ritualistic movement, opens the skin with eyes around the head limiting the visual field of his victim. When the victim is in a trance, he begins to devour behind. The mouth is at the opposite end. So he devours its victims without interfering in the visual field. For sudden movements in the visual field of the victim may prompt it.
The Caipora is one of the best known Brazilian legends. In some of the literature refers to as a band, so often represented by men, women or children. The caiporas are known as protectors of animals or demons of the forest.
